Watch Nuclear Explosions on YouTube

Ever wondered how scary and or beautiful a nuclear bomb would look like? Well look no further because Youtube now has some declassified nuke testings! The United States conducted around 216 atmospheric test from 1945 and 1992, most taking place in Nevada and in the Pacific. These classified videos have now been declassified for everyone to watch in its horrific glory.

Greg Spriggs, a nuclear weapons physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Lab, and his college Jim Moye, a film expert, are looking to preserve these tapes. They’ve estimated to have found around 6,500 out of 10,000 tapes, but have only looked over  around 4,200 and analyzed around 500. But today the laboratory has declassified around 64 videos that are on Youtube.

Springs strongly believes that its going to take him another two years to scan all the tapes. Declassifying them will take even longer, since they need the military’s approval to do so. In doing so they hope that releasing these videos will lead to further knowledge on nuclear explosions and lead to greater achievements. Springs stated “By looking at these films, we found a lot of different pieces of information that had not been analyzed back in the 50’s, and we’re discovering new things about these detonations that have never been seen before.”

The reason for having all of these nuclear footage mostly dates back to the cold war era. When tensions between the United States and the USSR were at all time high. It was a competition to see how could build the biggest and baddest nuclear missile faster. Throughout the course of all this around 72,000 nuclear missile were made.

New York City V.S. Verizon

The City of New York is suing Verizon for failure of providing Fios service to every household. They have sued for not completing certain requirements such as fiber to pass all residents in the city by mid 2014, as well not completing certain installments according to officials.

To no one’s surprise Verizon isn’t to happy about all of this. A spokesperson talking to Technica claims that they have met the terms and agreement to it’s fullest capacity. They are calling on to the Mayor to help them b/c certain landlords restrict them from installing fiber internet in their homes. They have proposed to invest an extra billion dollars to New York city to help appease everyone, but it’s only made things more complicated.

Verizon’s main focus revolve around the way they interpret the term “Pass”. They claim that there was never a firm definition of the words usage in 2008. But NYC government is using a completely different meaning with the word “Pass” that was being used 9 years ago. Verizon believed it to be meant running fiber network routes for older phone lines. Not a literal effort for everyone in the city. To run fiber they need a much faster router that’s capable of it. But the lawsuit in 2008 states that fiber would be available for everyone in a statement “past all of the residence locations in the city”. So it’s coming down to the fine print. As well people interpreting it.

Verizon does have a few stronger arguments against the city. One of the strongest being landlords not letting allowing them install fiber. As well as the city failing to provide a “Competitively-Neutral” letter to give to landlords. When they are denied the right to install Fiber internet.  Also due to the high number of people who want Fios, but can’t get it b/c of their location. However there is some evidence that suggest maybe they aren’t telling the full story.  NYC has attacked them in the past focusing them to bulk up service or even exclusive agreements. Currently the lawsuit is anyone’s game and could go in either way.

Thors new look in Ragnarok

It’s no secret that the director of the new Thor movie Taika Waititi is taking the prince of Asgard in a new direction. With the third installment to his franchise it’s time to make some serious changes. Just like it’s predecessors Iron man 3 with destroying his suits. Or Captain America with its civil war. Well Thor got just that a huge change no one saw coming a haircut!

Chris Hemsworth told Entertainment Weekly”It’s nice not to have to sit in the makeup chair for that hour each morning,”. Which is a clear jab at wearing his wig all the time. He then went on to say”It felt like a rebirth for me as the actor but also as the character.”. Many people have made the connection to him having short hair to the comic series “The Unworthy Thor”. In which Odin deems him unworthy and must prove himself once again to wield the hammer of Thor.

Thor wasn’t the only one who seemed to get the spotlight Jeff Goldblum character as the Grandmaster images were released too. To those who do not know who the Grandmaster is he’s considered one of the oldest living beings in the Marvel universe. He strives on making playing games and travels to known universes and studies them. Once he has studied them well enough he forms his own tournaments and other games, he forces them play with extremely high stakes.
Other news that is confirmed for Ragnarok is Mark Ruffalo will return as the Hulk. As well as Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. Thor Ragnarok is set to be released on November 13th 2017.

DCEU is relying heavily on flashbacks/forwards

The DCEU short for the DC Extended Universe has came out and said, it’s going to rely heavily on flashbacks and flashforwards in there upcoming films. Charles Roven the producer of Wonder Woman. In hopes to make the rest of the Justice League stories in check for Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg. So that way there next big project will make sense.

Roven stated “For example, the Justice League movie will take place in a universe that’s post Batman V Superman, just like Batman V Superman takes place post-Man of Steel,’. So for the remainder of the Justice League their individual movies will take place post JL. Just like every movie verse whatever happens in Justice League will affect these characters in there solo films. To fill in the gaps of what happened in between those movies they’re going to use lots of flashbacks/forward so it could all make sense. But this won’t be the main formula for the DCEU.

As of right now we know next to nothing on what will happen in Justice League. Or how this will even cross of to the other members films. But what is certain that all three of these characters will finally make a debut in Justice League on Nov. 17th. As well as Wonder Woman on the 2nd of June.

Space Travel with NASA in VR

Oculus Rift has made headlines once again with it’s newest project. Mission ISS is the latest project that allows everyday people such as you and I to explore the international space station! It is currently free for all Oculus rift and Touch owners. It’s a detailed recreation of the space station where players  can do all sorts of things normal astronauts would do such as spacewalks, dock cargo capsules, even “perform mission-critical task”. It was even designed by NASA themselves and many other space agencies. They’ve put in all this effort to really give you the full astronaut experience.

When Mission ISS was announced last year, one of the head developers of Oculus has said it’s almost the same simulation that NASA uses. With almost life like simulation it’s going to give the player a full immersion and taste of being in space. But it’s important to add that this isn’t the first time NASA has worked with virtual reality. They’ve played such a key role in making this all possible in the 1980’s through the 1990’s helping people capture breathtaking pictures. They’ve even helped make Mars 2030, which is very similar to Mission ISS. Which allows you to travel mars freely. All of this was made in hopes to educate people on space in a fun way.

Oculus is hoping to make space travel look more accessible for everybody. The release of this isn’t  too far off from them sending a headset to space. With partnership with French agency they want to send an astronaut to space. In hopes of “testing out a zero-gravity on humans spatial awareness and balance”.  As well at the same time not make it very nauseating.

As of right now lots of people have plenty of questions. Oculus has seemed to be pretty secretive for the most part.

Is mouse and keyboard cheating?

So recently a topic has come up and has sparked a major debate online. With it being is using mouse and keyboard on console gaming cheating? It all started on a blizzard battlenet form were a few players voiced their opinion on if using mouse & Keyboard is cheating on competitive play. Then it took a major turn when Blizzard chimed in saying they do consider it cheating, and if they could they’d ban them for cheating. This comment came from the director of Overwatch Jeff Kaplan stating

“ The Overwatch team objects to using mouse and Keyboard on console.

We have contacted both first-party console manufacturer and expressed our concerns about the use of mouse and keyboard and input conversion devices

We have lobbied and will continue to lobby for our first-party console manufacturer to either:

To disallow mouse and keyboard and input conversion devices

OR

Openly and easily support mouse and keyboard for all players.

I encourage you to reach out to hardware manufacturers and Express your concerns(but please do in a respectful and productive way)”

Microsoft doesn’t support mouse and keyboard at all but Phil Spencer recently hinted at they should expect platform support in the coming months. But most games don’t support mouse and keyboard but many players use a third party to use it. Blizzard has openly said this is something only to worry about if you’re playing in the top 500 competitive players, but many players are still divided saying they shouldn’t have to change their game style to something that isn’t supported at all. From the looks of it right now both Microsoft and Sony aren’t going to make any changes anytime soon.

To give you an example of how much this could impact online gaming a few months back Gears of War 4 held a cross platform co-op play as a test to see how they could implement more cross platform play in the future. From the results they got back it was a big game changer and mouse and keyboard had a the upper hand. This is defiantly  an interesting debate and I’d love to hear your input.
