Fortnite Season 6 Is Here!

The long anticipated season 6 is finally here! There was a lot of people guess what the cube would do once it landed into Loot lake and we finally got a answer with a whole lot of new content for this season. The theme of this is a bit of a no brainer Halloween.

For starters one of the biggest changes to happen this season is the Loot Lake. Now since the cube went into the lake the house is floating in the middle of the air! It’s become a hot drop again since it is offering more chest, and a semi new spot to land. The house is surrounded by all the junk that was under the water that we couldn’t see before. With the inside staying the same as usual. There’s a few ways to get there, one you could just land, or ride the tornado up that’s keeping it a float.

Another big change is the castle near Haunted Hills. The castle is very fitting for the location right next to the graveyards so it gives it that creepy factor you’re looking for in a Halloween theme. There is a few items to grab but doesn’t offer all that much, if anything it’s just nice to look at in awe.

The last big noticeable change is where the cube left its mark. This season got introduced Shadow Stones. Pretty much what they do is make you invisible for a short amount of time, as well as run super fast and go through walls. But just because you’re invisible doesn’t mean you can’t take damage.

Those are the biggest changes to the game some there are a lot of minor things too. For one the sky is a whole lot darker now, with lighting in the sky. Also a nice little touch are some shops are costume stores, and some buildings have Halloween decorations.

Last but not least the battle pass. It’s set with tons of new skins that are worth the buy. For instance they have a more darker version of Little Red Riding Hood, and a werewolf at the very end. Those are just a few of the skins but all of them this season are on point, you could argue that it’s better than last season.

But possibly the biggest thing to happen yet is cross platform was enabled for everyone! So now you can play with your buddies on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and even your phone! This is huge for gaming everywhere, and it’s awesome that it came just in time for the new season. That alone is game changing! So hurry up we only got 9 more weeks till the season ends!

Muse Is Putting The Pressure In There New Song

The British rock band Muse has been releasing singles every, few months to build up hype for the upcoming album “Simulation Theory” that’s set to release november 8th. The whole album is a cyberpunk retro theme. Using a lot of retro sounds to give that nostalgia effect it’s working out for them too. When you listen to some songs you feel like you’re listening to a Blade Runner soundtrack.

But this new song is definitely a banger. Right off the bat you feel the energy from start to finish. Even though the full album isn’t out yet this might be one of the best songs yet. But even though the song is nothing less than amazing, that’s not even the best part of it at all.

It’s actually the music video that’s a work of art. To sum it up it’s basically Gremlins meets Ghostbusters. The video sets up a 80’s homecoming dance with Terry Crews as the principal setting the rules for the night. It’s like a typical 80’s movie with kids sneaking out causing trouble and having fun.

But things take a turn for the worst when a couple accidentally turns some animals into man eating creatures. The dance turns into a feeding ground, but terry isn’t having it. You see him suit up with a badass suit and Ghostbuster blaster and begins to defend everyone he can. At the end they seem to get a little overwhelmed with Terry and and the band surrounded by the people who are turning into zombie like creatures before it ends.

ESPN Will Have Ninja on this issue cover

Being considered a “professional gamer” usually has a funny tone to it. But now with E-Sports on the rise that has been going away. Colleges are offering scholarships to play video games on their behalf, and people are even scouted to play in pro-leagues. With huge followings and fan base.

As stated before it has been an uphill battle to be taken a little serious. But one man has helped change the mind of the general public. That man is the fortnite super star Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, he did a stream with Drake a few months ago and that skyrocketed him to fame. After that he became the face of gaming and broke record after record for having so many people watch him.

With all this fame came tons of sponsorship like Redbull and even Samsung. With all these partnerships it has only helped him grow as a streamer/public figure. Almost everyone who plays fortnite knows the name Ninja and what he can do in the game.

This past tuesday (Sept 17) he had announced on twitter that he will be on the cover of ESPN. This is huge because he will be the first Pro Gamer to ever be on the cover of. It is important to add that ESPN does cover ESports but has never put anyone in the field on the cover. This issue will focus a little more on gaming, as well as an in depth story of what goes on behind the scenes as he streams. As well as what he plans to do in the future and his day to day life.

Shooting at Downey Kaiser Hospital

Around 11:00 AM a 34 year old hispanic  man from Lynwood. Walked into the Kaiser hospital in Downey located on 9333 Imperial Hwy, Downey and started causing a scene according to some of the people on the floor with him. He came in wearing normal clothes blending in with everyone there.

A woman from inside said that she heard the man screaming “`I have a gun and people are gonna die”. The Downey PD can’t confirm if there were any shots fired but people inside said they heard 6-7 bullets fire from a handgun. The police responded quickly to the call. It only took them roughly 30 mins to get in and arrest the man. He had surrendered in almost an instint as soon as the police had arrived.

It did take some time to get everyone out of the hospital roughly 400 people were evacuated to the Jack In The Box across the street. After that the police took them into a nearby park while the police searched the area. According to Kaiser “No One was injured”.

Kaiser had went on to say “`The safety of our patients, employees and physicians are paramount,” according to Kaiser. “We recognize the stress that can be brought on by a situation like this. We’re offering behavioral health services and support to our patients, employees and physicians who were onsite.”

Dead Rising Studio Capcom Vancouver Shuts Down

Capcom is shutting down one of it’s biggest studios. That being the Vancouver one mainly known for Dead Rising. They were already facing troubles having to lay off a number of people this year and today Sept 18th 2018 they announced they would be closing the studio.

Capcom is saying that 158 people will be losing their job due to it closing. “A skeleton crew will remain until January 2019 to finalize closure operations and logistics”.

As previously stated the studio was mainly known for the Dead Rising franchise. A game that pinned you up against hordes of zombies, that allowed you to use literally everything as a weapon to defend yourself. Although the game was made in japan the sequels were made in Vancouver with a new one in the works.

In february the company had to lay off 30% of its staff. And Capcom had this to say “the team is continuing to work hard to support the recent release of Puzzle Fighter for mobile and is dedicated to its flagship Dead Rising series.”.

As for Dead Rising it’s still unknown what will happen to the game. The main studio did shut down but Capcom still has it. As for all the workers who had lost their jobs a good number of them are heading over to EA.

“We appreciate the hard work and contributions of all the studio team members in creating unforgettable gameplay experiences for the Dead Rising series and Puzzle Fighter,”. Said by a Capcom rep.

NASA Will Be Using Moon Dust To Build Structures

NASA new focus is going back to the moon, and this time they’re not interested in just leaving a flag behind. NASA administrator said “This time when we go, we’re going to go to stay”. Which are some pretty bold claims. Well it seems to be that the moon has more supplies to offer.

Scientist are fairly certain that water lays on the moon. Back in 2008 solid ice was found on the moon thanks to India’s Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft. And again in 2009 after crashing it’s LCROSS spacecraft in the moon’s south pole. Finding water on the moon is obviously a big deal for many reasons. But from besides needing it to live they could use the water and hydrogen to fuel the spacecrafts. Which is a major bonus.

One thing that NASA scientist have there eyes on is the dirt on the moon. Also known as regolith they could use this to help them 3D print things that they would need. So they wouldn’t have to send up as many supplies any more, instead they could send up a few robots and mine some regolith. So they could print whatever it is that they need in space.

This is still a little far off but it’s nice to see NASA thinking long term, and coming up with bold ideas.

Ads May Be Going To Space Next

Ads are everywhere there is almost no way of escaping from them. You go on Instagram you see them, Youtube you see them, and even by walking outside. Well it seems to be that space the final frontier may very well have ads floating around soon.

Back in August  NASA a Jim Bridenstine had told his peers that he’d be forming a new committee. To help them go more commercial. The head of this new committee will be Maxar Technologies, he’ll be in charge of making sure NASA can brand it’s spacecrafts. As well as letting astronauts have more endorsements, just like professional athletes.

The main reason for this whole idea is to of course save money. They want to offset the cost of certain missions that NASA does. Bridenstine believes that letting astronauts have endorsements will make space travel more popular so it can get more funding.
This idea goes against some of the oldest ways of NASA. They’ve been restricted from promoting themselves in commercial products or services. One fear is that this might change the way they talk to the press and others. Losing some professional ability. Not to mention that the ad money they get might not be enough to offset. NASA has a limited budget with some missions costing  hundreds of millions to even billions of dollars!

After all NASA is a government agency. And government employees are not supposed to have any endorsements of any kind. They’ve gone the extra mile too to cover up any brand names, for instance they send M&Ms up to space for the astronauts to eat. But NASA calls them “candy-coated chocolates”. In some videos of astronauts in space you may be able to see some named products but NASA never acknowledge them at all.

Although NASA can not accept endorsements, there partners can. For instance a Canadian astronaut sang David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” in space and sold it once he landed in earth. And Russia space agencies have even filmed commercials up there.

But NASA has found some loopholes in the system and has managed to sell some products. Like you’ll see a hot wheel toy with NASA spacecraft. You may of even seen some NASA shirts and clothes too. Bridenstine has said too with these ads they would be able to return to the moon. They’re working with other companies too such as Space X and Boeing.  But they can only spend as much money as congress approves.

Another big fear is that tax payers who help fund NASA may not be on board with this. Some private companies don’t want them to go public at all. But everything is still in talks. And the New committee will decide what they will do with NASA. But as of right now it looks like they might lean that way.
